October 6th is World Card-Making Day! What are you doing to celebrate?
Greeting someone with a friendly “hello”?
Wishing someone happiness on their special day?
Or just sending a little bit of love via paper?
Why not celebrate with us next Wednesday at Yang & Horsley Dentistry from 5-7PM? We’re making cards for the American Cancer Society! Whatever you do, sprinkle a little happiness wherever you go… you’ll be glad you did!
This month, we helped Miss Marlene and her friend Pat with a project for Sunday School. Miss Pat is the director for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade department at her church and has recently been sending cards to kids who have been missing Sunday School. The cards are working! She said that kids are returning after being sent a handmade card.
We had a great turnout for September’s Spark a Smile, with a visit from Miss Paula and little Lex, who made her first card! Not bad for a 3-year-old!
Along with Miss Pat and Marlene, we were also visited by Miss Vivian, who moved away last year but came back to visit. It was great having her at our table again! We missed her stories and her laugh.
Marlene planned four card designs and it was easy to assemble with all the pieces pre-cut. She also hand-braided these bracelets for the “knot” cards!
Join us next Wednesday, October 10th from 5-7PM at Yang & Horsley Dentistry as we create inspirational PINK cards for the American Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. We’d love to have you!
