Here are the cute “Somebunny Loves You” cards that Miss Marlene designed and prepared for us to make in March! She used her Cricut to cut the chocolate bunnies and bows, then picked several different polka-dot colors to make a colorful set of cards for the group of visitation ladies to give to our local homebound friends.
Continuing with the theme of counting our blessings, for Spark a Smile tomorrow (April 12), we’ll be creating Thank You cards for Seeds of Hope to send to their donors. Hope you can join us from 5-7PM at Yang and Horsley Dentistry (325 E. Cottonwood Lane)!
The blog has been quiet over the summer, but we’re still crafting every month! Lately we’ve been working on more “hello” cards for the community, along with these cute Christmas and adoption cards.
This was a collaborative effort with me, Miss Marlene, and her new-found friend, a Cricut electronic die-cutting machine. I wrote the “merry” in calligraphy, scanned it, and sent it to Marlene, who cut it from vinyl on her machine.
Inspired by the movie “Up”, we made these Congratulations cards for our annual commission from Miss Donna, who helps coordinate the Juvenile Court Adoption Day in November. It’s such an honor to be a small part of a special day for loving families!
Thank you for your continued support for Spark a Smile! We still meet on the second Wednesday of every month, from 5-7PM, to create pretty paper things for the community. This week, we’re starting our annual Thanksgiving treat project for the Seeds of Hope/community dinner that feeds over 350. Hope you can join us on October 12th!
I’ve been experimenting with brush calligraphy, so I wrote these script greetings. It was so fun to incorporate them on cards to send to some of our favorite patients!
A very special thank you to Miss Donna K, who mailed us two giant boxes of her retired supplies (stamps, paper, embellishments, and my favorite… a huge stack of Brilliance Metallic Ink pads!) I wish I could get the photo to show the shimmer of those fun inks that I used with the heart stamps.
Hope you’ll join us for our monthly Spark a Smile party this Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 5-7PM at Yang and Horsley Dentistry (325 E. Cottonwood Lane). We’re making rainbows for the lovely volunteers at Hospice Compassus, to thank them for all of their hard work!
In January, we made cards with messages of hope and strength, for the American Cancer Society. Here are a few of the designs we created!
Hope you’ll join us tonight at Yang and Horsley Dentistry (325 E. Cottonwood Lane), Wednesday, February 10th, as we make some cards filled with LOVE for some of our favorite people! See you there!
We welcomed the holiday season with these peaceful Merry & Bright cards that were delivered via Seeds of Hope for a Christmas meal.
Please join us for our first SAS party of the New Year, on Wednesday, January 13th from 5-7PM at Yang and Horsley Dentistry. We’re ringing in 2016 with some messages of bravery, strength, and hope!
Since 2011, we’ve made 300+ treats every November for the Seeds of Hope annual Thanksgiving dinner. This year, we made 350 cute turkey cards! Many thanks to Miss Marlene and Miss Pat who stayed a little late to help finish all of the turkeys (with a little help from my husband and 4-year-old turkey boy)!
Join us this Wednesday, December 9th from 5-7PM as we create merry Christmas cards for the annual dinner that’s delivered to the homebound. Hope you can help us spread the holiday cheer!
Every November, the Pinal County Juvenile Court hosts Adoption Day, finalizing the process of adoption for many families. We created 50 of these cheerful cards to give to all of the happy families. We’re honored to participate in a small way for this big day! Thanks so much to Miss Donna McBride for asking us to contribute!
Hope you can join us for our free monthly party on November 11, 2015 from 5-7PM. We need your help! Our biggest project of the year is 350 cute turkey cards for Seeds of Hope’s annual Thanksgiving dinner, and we’re making them this Wednesday! See you then!
In preparation for a new year of crafting, we spent September cleaning out old projects and building up a stockpile of “Thank You” cards for the fall! It was fun to get to know Miss Sheri and she did a great job of making new designs from these old projects.
Hope you can join us this Wednesday, October 14th, from 5-7PM. We’re creating cards for the Pinal County Juvenile Court’s Adoption Day in November!
For our August SAS gathering, we did our best to ward off the summer heat by thinking chilly, happy, holiday thoughts! Miss Marlene prepped all the pieces for these 80 Merry Christmas cards, which will be given to the homebound. I’m sure they’ll appreciate all the love and care that went into creating these beautiful trees!
Miss Marlene used a die-cutter to cut all the individual Christmas tree pieces, and then added sticker adhesive to the back, so all we had to do was peel-and-stick. Thank you so much for all the detailed crafting, Miss Marlene!
Every year, the Casa Grande Elementary School District welcomes new teachers, and we are so honored to help say “hello” as they start a new school year!
To make these mini-cards, we used a “hello” stamp from Ali Edwards, and tiny scraps from my overflowing blue/green bins. We delivered them on mini-clipboards, and the new teachers loved them!
Thanks to Miss Lisa for sending pictures from New Teacher Orientation! We really appreciate everything that teachers do for our kids, and are so glad we were able to Spark a Smile on their first day. Hope you can all join us on Wednesday, August 12th, from 5-7PM at Yang and Horsley Dentistry (325 E. Cottonwood Lane). Miss Marlene has a special project for us!
